Send it to Congress

Last week, Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI), speaking on the House floor, shared his belief that African-Americans could do a better job of limiting the number of abortions in their community by “advocating and fighting for” their unborn babies’ “right to life.”

Then Rep. Gwen Moore (D-WI), came to the House floor to speak.

“I don’t expect Representative Duffy to understand why his comments were so offensive, nor do I anticipate him apologizing for them. What he and so many of his Republican colleagues fail to understand is the underlying context behind high abortion rates in African-American communities.”

Then Congresswoman Moore, a black woman (that’s her in the above photo), helped spell it out for Congressman Duffy, a white man: 59-Across and a lack of access to 17-/26-/47-Across are the two main causes for a demographic’s high numbers of abortions.
